Do you ever have those days where you just feel blah about your look? Today was one of those days for me. I had sloughed off my spray tan this morning in the shower because I went to get spray tanned again today and wanted my skin to be fresh (more on that later.) But for some reason (maybe it was my chipped nails and array of split ends) I just felt yuck today.
Now that my skin is bronzed and glowing again, I think I badly need another trim and some teeth whitening (I think I’m going to try ZOOM! so look out for a future review on that– If you’ve ever done ZOOM! tell me about it in the comments!)
You know what I like to do when I need a little beauty inspiration? Look to the stars…and not the ones in the sky!
But before we get to the inspiration photos, I wanted to give you ladies a quick product review on a hair product I’ve been using recently that I love. I originally purchased the sample size and just bought the full size bottle over the weekend.
It’s REDKEN’S SATINWEAR 02 ULTIMATE BLOWDRY LOTION
. It doubles as a heat protector for the hair and I really enjoy the way it makes my hair feel. It doesn’t weigh the hair down but still smooths the hair, which is great. I definitely recommend this product, especially for ladies who blow dry and have long hair. It’s nice to have a product that styles and offers protection at the same time.
I got mine at Ulta for $16.00. Elle (AllThatGlitters21 on YouTube) also recommends this product (I had purchased it before she talked about it and was pleasantly surprised to learn it was one of her faves.)
Back to inspiration. Here are the latest photos that I’ve loved enough to save on my computer:
The lovely AnnaLynne McCord who always looks stunning (love her straight hair here!)
The beautiful Ashley Greene keeping it simple in denim shorts and a loose peasant-style tank:
The always gorgeous Brooklyn Decker:
Ohhh the Valentino Bow Pumps! I love them!
and the lovely ladies from “The Hills” (so sad it’s over)
Filming the new season of “Gossip Girl” (eeek! so excited!!! look at the clothes!)
“The City’s” Olivia Palermo is this gorgeous lacy dress:
Who’s inspiring you lately? Do you have any beauty regiments that always make you feel fantastic?
By the way, the spray tan I got was the one called “Versa Spa” but I’m going to wait to do a full review on it once I see the color tomorrow. This time I did the one with the bronzer in it (I had done the “clear” one before so I can compare the two.) Gosh I love spray tans. Especially when I haven’t been working out. The immediate “look 5 lbs thinner” effect is so worth it.
xoxo,
Veronika.
Love the photos! <3 I really like how Olivia wears such chic clothes!
I was going to do the "Zoom" whitening and chickened out the morning of my appointment after reading online reviews! ha! I'm a baby! But because I am getting married and def needed teeth whitening I bought Crest white strips, the Crest whitening toothpaste, and the Crest whitening toothbrush and have been so amazed with the results! Plus all together it only cost like $60!
katie- my dental office does it for free once a year 🙂 so at least i won't have to pay. My H had it done and it was good. I like the idea that it's just an hour but I know it can be painful.
I had "Zoom" whitening done and I feel like I've wasted $300 for nothing. I know it doesn't work the same for everyone but for me it was just waste of money. It was not painful at all.
If you can get it for free, I say go for it.
simply me- did it not make your teeth whiter/brighter?
Love the celeb picks! I am sad The Hills is over too ;( And Olivia looks stunning, well, all the time! I am using a picture of her so my stylist can hopefully match her brown color.
Are you a celebrity?! I is confused by your blog.
obviously I am not a celebrity. I am using celebrity photos to show styles and makeup looks I like.
Eek I had an awful experience with the Zoom! whitening. I got it last year in prep for the wedding and my teeth were really white but it was SO not worth the pain. Basically they put some sort of solution on your teeth and you sit in the dentist chair for three rounds of 15 minutes with the laser (?) on your teeth. My dentist suggested we do a fourth round so I agreed. The zinging sensation in my teeth started almost immediately. The denstist (assistant) leaves the room so I basically sat there in excruiciating pain. I figured it would stop once the laser turned off but it didn't. I felt the zinging sensations through to my gums in all of my teeth. I drove to my parents house and cried on the couch. It went away the next day but the pain was tremendous. They give you a numbing cream or something but it didn't really work. My father in law is a dentist and when I called him for help he told me he won't even do the Zoom! treatment. One of my co-workers had it done and experienced a similar issue. I liken the pain second only to that of getting a tattoo (that I've thus far experienced in my life).
Sorry for the novel but it really hurt that badly. Maybe it would have been better if I only had three rounds of it. In the future, I'm definitely sticking to regular ol' trays.
Veronica, I couldn't tell the difference. The dentist and the assistant said they are lighter/brigther but I didn't see it really. Maybe I expected too much, who knows 🙂
I love Versa Spa spray tans!! I think I am going to buy that Redken product…I have been looking for something just like that! As always, I love all of the celebrity inspiration pictures that you post. Brooklyn Decker always looks stunning.
Love the inspiration pics. My hair is dark, but it has gotten soo much lighter over the summer. I am definitely going to bring in a picture of Olivia as inspiration because she just looks so stunning with her color hair.
The product sounds really cool too. I normally put a redken cream on my hair before I dry, and then when I curl it I use redken hot sets to hold the curl and protect it from the heat. LOVE Redken products!
-Rebecca (p.s. finally figured out i can add a pic to my comments. yay!)
Zoom for free? Jealous! I want to do something about my teeth before the wedding but have a few teeth that were broken and I'm afraid of how whitening them will make them look. Like 1/2 white, 1/2 not white. lol!
Never even heard of ZOOM. I still buy Crest Whitestrips- not even the advanced kind. They make my teeth whiter than they probably even NEED to be. I think we may have talked about this before, but have you ever tried them? Sorry, Veronika, can't remember. Anyway- I don't even use them everyday. MAYBE 3-4x a WEEK. MAYBE. And I can;t tell you how many people compliment on how white my teeth are….Just a suggestion.
Love the product suggestion for us long-haired girls!
I always look to Kim Kardashian and Carrie Underwood for makeup inspiration and Reese Witherspoon, Rachel McAdams, Jennifer Anniston and Ashley Greene for fashion inspiration. 🙂
I had zoom whitning done right before my wedding and I say go for it! It was worth every single penny. Its pretty quick and painless (dont let the pansies tell you other wise)
I really love turn up the heat/zone it's a heat protectant I got from sally's. I really really love it leaves my hair super silky and you need just a small amount. I loooove this product learned about it from youtube from enchantress. Just really love how it doesn't weight down my hair and leave it gunky..
