This morning, I used hot rollers for the first time in awhile. I use ones by Conair that I got at Target. You can buy similar ones here.
Hot rollers are pretty easy to work with, though I find that they don’t give me as much of a curl as using a curling iron does (probably because they don’t get as hot as my Hot Tools curling iron- which I love, BTW.)
This is how it turned out (kind of softer, looser curls- they don’t last as long as curling iron curls but they are pretty- note that I DID use a curling iron just for the front pieces because I ran out of hot rollers.)
I wore my white Zara dress today that I got on sale for $29.99. Zara only has a sale twice a year ladies, so if you can get there soon, go check out the offerings. They had a lot of great stuff and I would say 80% of the store was on sale. Today was also the first time I wore a slip. I bought a nude one at target to wear under this dress because although it’s lined, it’s still a bit sheer.

It is raining like crazy here today and the pressure has given me a migraine but I think the Excedrin
is finally kicking in. Thank goodness!
Do you use hot rollers? Do you try to wear your hair differently each week or do you pretty much stick with the same do? I definitely do the latter, but lately I’ve been trying to switch it up a bit by sometimes wearing it in soft waves. It’s nice for a change.
xoxo,
Veronika.
That dress is so cute! I got off work late today but I will try to hit the Zara store tomorrow.
We have such similar style! I am sad a Zara isn't near me b/c I love that dress – esp. the ruffles on the skirt! If you don't mind me asking, what slip did you buy…I've been on the hunt for a nude slip and did have one from Target but it was SO tight and crushed my boobs – made me look flat!!!
I use hot rollers every day and have for years! I have never mastered the art of using a curling iron although I would really like to learn.
Love the white dress…very pretty! 🙂
WOW, love, love, love that dress on you! Love the way you styled it. Your hair looks so pretty with a curl in it.
I have never used hot rollers on myself believe it or not!
tina- I bought a slip that cost about $10-$12 and it's not body hugging or tight- it's JUST the skirt thing…it's nude with slits on each side and it's the shorter one- i think this is it: (but in nude)

that dress is sooooo classy and pretty Veronika! i have a Zara closeby that i'll have to make time to check out. i've been anxiously wishing they would open up an online store. sometimes the convenience of shopping online is more tempting than dealing with the malls!
Love the curls! I have such flat hair it's so hard for me to get results on my own. My hairdresser blows out my hair then does pin curls. Have you ever tried pin curls?
P.S. my name is Cristy and I have a new blog 🙂
Love that dress!
I have used hot rollers on occasion. They are conairs "big curls" rollers. My hair always turns out more newscaster(lots of body on top with a silly curled up look at the ends) than curly. Not sure if I am doing something wrong, or maybe my hair isn't long enough for the size roller?
cristy- yes i've had my hairdresser do pin curls and they turn out great!
olivea- the ones I use are large, but not the super jumbo ones which would give more of a "flip" as opposed to a true curl.
If I leave the house for any place except daycare, I either flat iron or use hot rollers. Otherwise my hair looks like Sebastian Bach's from Skid Row.
I keep numerous clips, spin pins, hair bands/pins, etc. in my bag to "do up" my hair while I'm out if it falls in my face and bugs me. I absolutely cannot have hair in my face while eating or driving, it makes me crazy.
I love that Zara dress – it's feminine yet structured. Your hair looks really voluminous and curly in the 2nd photo – hot rollers suit you!
I use steam curlers – as they are very gentle but create long lasting curls. Here's some info on the one I use:

I'm planning on doing a new tutorial soon – I learned a new way to use the curlers – which give me more flattering (not perm-like) curls 🙂
Love that dress–looks great on you. Wish I had a Zara near me!!
Boring-hair-do-er here, haha. I do pretty much similar styling all the time cause I have short hair, but it works!! 🙂
Love the outfit!!!
I used to be a hot roller girl, but recently I've enjoyed the waves from my curling iron better. But hot rollers give a different look and you've reminded me that I should try it again =)
That dress… how wrinkled did it look after your day at work? I always decide not to buy linen because I hate the wrinkle issue. I feel super sloppy after sitting in it just driving to work!
I absolutely love your dress! I always try to wear my hair differently, although I really only ever wear it straight. I just run out of time in the morning to curl my hair.
anon- linen does wrinkle, but I think the detailing at the front (the way the dress is layered) makes it a bit less noticeable.
I havent been to Zara in forever! It's at the "bad" mall in Dallas, lol… I sadly just straighten my hair every morning because it's easier. Blah… 😛
you have the best hair! for real! love it like that!! I really like your dress too. BTW I bought turkish delight lipgloss a few weeks ago and have it on its way to me! can't wait!
Really like that dress!
I've never used hot rollers…mostly because I wouldn't have any idea how to use them. I have "curly" hair but most of the time I either flat iron my hair or use curling iron ( 1 1/2 inch) to create loose waves.
I wear slips underneath dresses and skirts quite often. It is a bit old school thinking, but they really help fabric not cling, lay correctly and shows less of my body's imperfections.
Also, they are kinda sexy in that old school way, I always feel like i'm a character in "Mad Men" when I put one on!
I usally use hot rollers everyday, it's just easier. But lately I have been too tired so I have been wearing my hair straight during the week. Is that your husband's watch? It's really cute… And yes Excedrin is my super hero that swoops in and takes my migraine away (most of the time). Hope you feel better!
kristina- nope, it's a women's watch by Michael Kors 🙂
Veronika-Question about your shoes..are yours the mesh or patent leather?
Jaimie
they are patent leather 🙂
I was just contemplating buying some hot rollers today! I have used them before and I really liked them, but my hair is much shorter now than it was previously, so maybe it will work differently? I guess I'll have to try it and find out 🙂
wow your dress is gorgeous!!
The Michael Kors shoes are on a 30% sale here!!! I was inspired by you and bought these…
