If you’re a Sephora VIB, then you’re probably as excited as I am for their 15% off promotion tomorrow! Anytime there is a discount at Sephora, I jump at the chance to get some of the pricier products at a lower price. The promotion says you can “bring a friend” (they get the 15% off too) so if you’re not a VIB, call your fabulous product-obsessed girlfriend and get to Sephora, STAT (the “bring a friend promotion” is for one night only– tomorrow. The full VIB promo goes from April 8th through the 19th.)
Here is my wish list:
Guerlain Terracotta Light Summer Bronzing Powder
The legendary iridescent bronzing powder is reinvented for spring/summer 2010 with intensely concentrated particles of mother-of-pearl to enhance already-golden complexions. Warmed by copper accents for olive skin or glints of pink for fairer skin, this bronzing powder has never been this alluring. Nestled in a round, sunny case, these new harmonies feature five iridescent shades to adorn the complexion with an intense sunny glow: the first two intensify it, the next two warm it up, while the last one adds a final touch of light!
Stila Lip Glaze (in a pink color, not sure which yet)
I love this product because it comes with the little brush applicator. I hate using my fingers!
Amazing Cosmetics- Amazing Concealer
My best friend uses this and swears by it! I am obsessed with my MAC concealer, but it might be interesting to try something new…this is a maybe for me.
Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat
This is another “maybe” for me. I have heard from blogger Bella Makeup (Sardun1 on YouTube) that there are much cheaper alternatives to this, so I might check those out first (check out her video on this topic here…Maybelline and Milani make similar products.)
I may also have to try out the Fresh Supernova Radiance Brightening Pen. I just don’t want to spend the money on the YSL one if there are much cheaper alternatives. We shall see!
I would also LOVE to try Illamasqua Blushes, but I’m not sure if my Sephora carries this brand yet. I like the colors “katie,” “tremble,” and “hussy.”
What’s on YOUR Sephora wish list?
Yesterday I went to Beauty First because the first Tuesday of every month it’s 20% off of everything in the store, so that’s when I buy my pricier hair products.
I got Pureology’s latest shampoo “Essential Repair.” I have been using their “Nanoworks” shampoo (which is amazing) but the Essential Repair was half the price at $27 (plus 20% off of that.) Plus it’s made for damaged hair, which mine most definitely is. I’ll let you all know how it works out. I washed my hair with it this morning and so far I like the smell, the way it feels, the way my hair feels afterward, etc. Only time will tell. Because it’s a protein shampoo, I’m going to alternate it every other wash so I’m no adding too much protein to my hair (which can cause it to become too dry and break off.)
I also picked up Aveda’s Smooth Infusion Glossing Straightener because that entire smoothing line has come highly recommended online. It has a 4.3/5.0 rating on Makeupalley which is pretty good for a hair product! I used it for today’s blowdry, and so far, so good. It is different than most styling creams…but I’m not sure how to describe it. It has the texture of a smooth gel cream and almost has a stickiness to it, that doesn’t actually feel sticky when it’s IN your hair.
Before I go, I’ll post my OOTD today. I didn’t love the skirt and top together, but I just wore it anyways. Not every outfit is a hit, but hey, that’s the fun of it- finding what works and what doesn’t. I once again wore flats. I’m still a bit sore! I do love those ruffles though!
xoxo,
Veronika.
I already have a Sephora shopping cart ready and waiting to go 🙂
I love the Aveda stuff. I use the Smooth Infusion Style Prep Smoother which goes on to damp hair before you blow dry it and I really love it. Nice smell and gives a nice texture too.
I love Pureology! It was my first foray into sulfate free shampoo and I have been hooked on the "no sulfates" thing ever since. I also love your outfit! That CR top is so cute=)
I might have to try the Aveda Smooth Infusion. I noticed today that my hair was not looking so smooth after I dried it and straightened it! I had all these little fuzzy pieces going on:(
love the purple top!
I have Aveda's light element's smoothing fluid and I love it! Its great for shine and smoothing and its really light so it doesn't weigh down my fine hair. I hope you like your new products!
I got the Sephora VIB thing in the mail, too, I am not sure what to get! I am trying to be "good" … but I am definitely getting the Shu Uemura eyelash curler.
steph
avedas smooth infusion is wonderful perhaps I will be picking up some as well! Your outfit is phenomenal! The ruffles would certainly spice up anyones day!
xoxo

I may have to try out the Pureology shampoo and conditioner! Thanks for the tip about protein–I thought it was the more the merrier when it came to protein for hair! lol
I'm in Houston as well and I've asked and none of the stores here carry Illamasqua yet….bummer!
I'd love to have Sephora here! Or at least that they would ship things internationally!
I agree on the YSL Touch Eclat. It'd not a concealer, so it wont cover anything, but it does give a great highlighting effect. – But so does a lot of other products! Currently I'm loving Estee Lauder Ideal Light Brush-On Illuminator pen. The only bad thing about these products is that you get raccoon-eyes with flash photography.
I'd love to try out the Illamasca cream blushes! I hear they are amazing too 🙂
Happy shopping!
You look amazing as usual. Love your watch 😉
♥
I am in love with that ruffly top! Was it a recent purchase?
jennifer- yes I got it last Friday! 🙂
Hi Veronika – Have you tried Moroccan Oil? Or know of anyone who has tried it?
susan- I love Morrocan Oil! I have used it before and really think it makes hair soft and sikly. I only use it on my hair from the nape of my neck down, never near my roots.
It's funny i've never written about it, I should!
Hah! I tried on this exact shirt/sweater combo yesterday but couldn't seem to find pants or a skirt that I liked with it. Thanks for the post about Sephora, I'm going to be near one tomorrow so I'll have to check it out!!
i think it would look better with a high-waisted pencil skirt 🙂
too bad the Canadians always get shafted =( discount dosnt work for us
boo
great list though =)
xo
ashleigh- that sucks! when i lived in Canada I always got so mad about the US promos never working in Canada! I know how you feel! Esp because the makeup is more expensive there/marked up
Love the ruffle top. I've been wanting to go to CR as they usually have cute things. They don't have one at Willowbrook though. I'm going to have to venture out Memorial City or the outlets on 290.
FJ- I don't think there is a CR at 290 but I know there is one at Memorial and Galleria 🙂
I would also recommend trying something other than the touche eclat. It's over rated and too expensive for what it really is: a highlighter.
I bought one from estee lauder and it's fine, but it's not a concealer so don't expect it to be.
Yes there's one there. I've been there twice. Maybe they closed it now? Hmm..
do you mean charlotte russe or papaya (similar store). I could be totally wrong. I've just never seen it there?
There is definitely a CR at the outlets on 290. I was just there last weekend but I don't find the selection to be as good as the regular stores. The Galleria location is my favorite. 🙂
I use that Aveda Smooth Infusion and it's fabulous! I love it both when I wear my hair wavy and tousled, as well as when I straighten it.
Also, I know from your previous posts that you like some oomph to your hair and so do I. I've been using Rusk Thick Body and Texture Amplifier on my roots and it gives extra body before blowdrying, without weighing down my hair.
