When getting dresses today, I had to take into consideration my post-Pilates/massive fall pain. I wanted to wear something comfortable but still be cute for a non-client meeting day at the office (when I don’t have meetings I can be a little more casual…but I love to dress up so much that sometimes I dress up even on days when I don’t have meetings!)
I wore flats today because I just couldn’t bear the thought of wearing heels with my leg pain (I wore them to church/brunch on Sunday, and let’s just say it slowed the healing process.)
Here’s what I wore (I think the sweater distracted nicely from my bruised knees, LOL)
I really love that skirt. It is super comfortable and a good length too. I aso like that it’s high-waisted and has pretty pleats and a bow detail.
After work today, my husband and I went to “visit” our couch again at West Elm because I was all anxious about it.
Every time I’m about to make a big purchase I freak out and second guess everything (even with my wedding gown, I knew 100% that I loved it but I kept questioning myself!!!)
We are already set up to donate our largest couch to a charity that gives gently used furniture to low-income families for a very reduced cost. It makes me feel good to know that our couch will go to a family who needs it (and, it’s a pretty nice couch too!)
The other two pieces (the love seat and ottoman) are going to stay at Kevin’s parents until we move to a larger home.
I am so excited to get a new couch! On top of the Tillary Sofa we are purchasing, we are also going to get the 2 x 2 Console Desk in White (and hopefully the Overlapping-Squares Side Chair to go with it.) Gosh, I just love so much stuff from that store. It’s scary to go there! You just want to take the entire store home.
Other items I love include the Large Rectangle Hanging Capriz Pendant (obsessed!), the Framed Side Table (perfect to use with out couch), the Safari Rug, the Patch NYC Framed Wall Art, and so many throw pillows, that there are too many to name!
I just love the idea of a fresh look to our space! It always feels so awesome to walk into a room that you love. Hopefully everything will turn out just like we imagined it.
I hope you all had a fabulous Monday!
xoxo,
Veronika.
i LOVE that desk and sofa. the simplistic look of the desk is nice in the white finish, and it's nice that there are shelves on the sides of it for storage. cute outfit too, the skirt is pretty! sometimes splurging can make me feel guilty too, but if i know i'm going to get a lot of use out of something, it makes the purchase well worth it in the long run. you'll get plenty of mileage out of the new furniture.
That sweater is soooo cute!
I love, love, love the cardigan sweater and those flats are cute. From where did you get them?
I cannot find a perfect pair of flats to save my life. I'm having a hard time finding one that fits perfectly. I bought pairs of flats before but I had to return them because they gave me blisters. It's so frustrating because I would love to wear flats instead of flip-flops everyday, you know.
You have great taste.. everything looks so nice, can't wait to see how it all turns out.
you look adorable, V!! and I am glad to see you are in flats 😉
I love west elm too. the couch suits you.. and it will last for years.
steph
Love the skirt….
Also, LOVE West Elm… and their prices are actually really reasonable which makes them even better.
Cute sweater!!
I really love that skirt. Link it, please!
I had to stop frequenting the D&R nest because at one point we had like 9 DIY projects and re-decorations going on at my house. I was snatching up stuff from C&B, CB@, WE and mroe like every week. It got to be too much.
A new couch will make your whole living area look better. We just got new LR furniture, it's definitely a great feeling.
Kristen- the skirt is from the BCBG outlet…so not sure it would still be avail. online.
I know what you mean about all of the projects. I definitely think having a beautiful home "sells it" better…people will be more attracted to your home if it's super nicely decorated, IMO.
I can't wait to get a new couch! it's been a long time coming! our black ones are nice, but they aren't soft (the material) and they just feel too dark and bachelor-pad-esque.
I did/am doing the same thing with my wedding dress. Hope your knees heal up quickly.
That cardigan is adorable! Very sweet looking.
🙂
I <3 the cardigan, was that a recent purchase from Forever 21?
kristen- i got it right before the holidays, I believe, so not recent. They had it in black too! I thought the flowers on the white one stood out a bit more though.
🙂
love the shirt!! I bet you were hot though with this summer weather weve had lately! I hear it should cool down soon though….If you conisder 70 cool. lol
Yuck! You can totally tell in that one picture that your boobs are FAKE. So gross!
anon- nice comment! I love my boobs and think they look great 🙂 I respect that you find them "gross" but I think most people would disagree!
You must be super proud of yourself in posting these kinds of comments! I guess you don't believe in Karma, huh?
Ignore the rude comments. Your boobs are nice =)
Anyway, I love capiz pendants! They make a room look so elegant and fun. We have 2 mini chandelier ones in our bathroom in gold I bought at Cost Plus a few years ago. Love them.
That couch is awesome. Great choice.
missjul- I will have to check to see if costco has any cute ones right now. My best friend has a membership so I can go with her 🙂 I didn't know costco sold housewares!
No not Costco but Cost Plus World Market. Let me see if I can find pics and email them to you to give you an idea. They probably still sell them. They seem to carry a lot of stuff we have had for years.
What do you know, they still sell them! I bought 2 of these to hang in our bathroom over the hanging lights that are above the wide mirror. I love them. And only $20 each!

miss jul- thanks so much for the tip! I love it 🙂
Cute outfit! Love the details on the cardi and the bow on the skirt ties the whole outfit together. Hope you leg feels better soon! Oh and DH and I used to "visit" our furniture all the time… 🙂
