Today, I started off my day right and went for a 3 mile walk at Houston’s Memorial Park with Candice. We walked it, but it felt great nevertheless.
After our walk, we headed to the mall to check out some of the new spring fashions.
I heard through the blogging grapevine that the Liberty of London line was already in Target stores (it is supposed to “officially” launch this Sunday.)
I wasn’t really drawn to any of the clothes. The children’s clothes were adorable and the home stuff was cute too. I guess I just felt that some of the floral patterns didn’t look right on clothes. There were a few cute tops, but nothing I fell in love with.
I ended up getting this Liberty of London picture frame. I think I’m going to use it to frame a wedding photo for my desk at my office. I like to have fun, bright things on my desk like pink post-it notes and a cute printed mug. It makes my day feel colorful and happy 🙂
I also visited Forever 21 today. I tried on about 12 things (tops, skirts, dresses) and bought one top. There were some promising looking items that ended up either being way too short or fit oddly (or in the case of one white skirt, translucent.)
I am so tired of dresses being too short. Dear retailers, PLEASE make your dresses longer! My argument for all clothing is that shorter people can always get their clothes hemmed where us tall girls can’t make dresses, skirts and pants longer. I realize that is totally selfish…but it is sooo frustrating when you find a fabulous dress that is so short that if you bend even slightly, you can see your whoo-ha.
Out of all of the things I tried on, I ended up purchasing this pretty white tunic. I think it has cute detailing and will be great over skinny jeans.
I paid a visit to Old Navy to pick up this petal tank too:
The petals on this tank are very similar to the ones on the Ann Taylor silk petal blouse (last seen here.) Needless to say, it was a pretty small shopping trip for me.
I’m not an impulsive buyer, so if I don’t see a lot of things I love, I just hold off and save it for my next trip where I might find more items I love. I have a strategy when I shop. I ask myself “do I love this?” “Will I feel regret if I don’t buy this?” “Do I know when I’ll wear it and what I can wear it with?” These questions usually keep me in check. I’m not saying I’ve never bought things I’ve regretted, but 90% of the time I do love what I get.
I also purchased L’Oreal’s Ever-Strong hair mask and Neutrogena’s new Split End Mender. I will report back how I like them once I’ve used them a few times.
Thanks for reading! Did you buy anything this weekend? Let me know in the comments below.
xoxo,
Veronika.
Okay, I found this website via my bff and immediately thought of you. (Weird since I don't know you.) I guess I just read you enough to guess.

I think you might like them!!

Cara- cute website. I'm not sure how I feel about shoe clips…I love embellishments but I think you have to be careful with some of those because they can look cheap. I love the idea of adding feathers or fake flowers to shoes though…so cute! and a lot of the designers are doing it now too!
I enter a shopping funk this time every year. I get so frustrated with the "inbetween-ness" of everything, racks and racks of clearance merchandise, incomplete spring lines. I go radio silent on the mall shortly after Valentine's and venture out again Easter weekend. It's become sort of a tradition between my mom and I to enjoy our day off on Good Friday with lunch and a trip to the shoe store for new sandals and the like. Just a few more weeks…
I also bought that Old Navy tank this week. I'm heading out to Target tomorrow to check out the LoL line, I'm pretty excited to mostly check out their housewares collection!
I looove that Old Navy top, which surprises me since Old Navy has been a big dissapointment lately. Now I have to go back to check them out!
Can't wait to see how you like the hair products!
You know I bought a lot of LoL stuff, haha. The little girls stuff is adorable!
Great purchases ! I only bought a silver bow ring for my bff's birthday and picked up some goodies at L'Occitane. I'm in love with their almond line !
it is so not selfish to wish retailers amde things LONGER. being 5'10 myself I feel your pain very well. 🙂
I buy a "dress" from ModCloth or Forever and it's a tunic top. yeah. Not a happy girl. haha
I just visited my local Target today and I have to say that I agree with you 100% about the LOL line. I loved it, but not for me. I just felt too bold/vintage/silly in some of the stuff even though I thought it looked super cute on the hanger. I didn't seem much home merchandise in that particular store, but I might try another Target for that because it seemed like stuff I would like!
I LOVE the Old Navy top! So cute.
I'm also curious about how you like the L'oreal Everstrong line? I am always on the look-out for a good, less expensive shampoo and conditioner.
I have that ON tank in hot pink. I haven't worn it yet. How much was that picture frame? I really like it.
Liz- I absolutely love L'Oreal's ever-strong line as well as their every pure line (all sulfate free!) 🙂
I can't wait to hear what you think of the hair mask & split end mender! This weekend I didn't buy any clothes. Only martini glasses & a shaker!!!
I love that old navy top veronika! I'll have to go look! The only thing I bought this weekend was online: I bought the gold and black resin station necklace from house of harlow 1960 😉 I have been drooling over it for a long time now, ever since I tried one on in a boutique.
