You didn’t think I’d possibly post about anything else today than the swimsuit issue of Sports Illustrated, right? especially since the gorgeous Brooklyn Decker made the cover (yay for her!) At just 22 years of age, this is quite a big accomplishment for her modeling career.
What I love about SI is the natural makeup, soft wavy hair, gorgeous skin (with freckles showing!) and the curvier bodies. Before someone takes my next comment the wrong way, I am going to preface it by saying that to me, being the height, weight and shape I am naturally, the bodies of many of these models look very achievable. None of them look emaciated, they just all look gorgeous and thin, but with curves. I love that Sports Illustrated uses women with a variety of body shapes. In addition to models, the swimsuit issue features Olympic Athletes, Dancing with the Stars dancers and football wives. I love it!
Here are some of my favorite models/shots from the issue. You can see all of the photos online too, just click here.
I’ll start with the stunning Brooklyn Decker. I know exactly why she got the cover, she is just perfection in every shot! All photos from SI.com. Click to enlarge.
If you want to see more of Brooklyn, you can go to her gallery here.
Then, there’s stunning model Cintia Dicker. Can we discuss the perfection of her face? To me, her skin, hair, eyes, lips etc are just so stunning. Did I mention I LOVE freckles? I used to have way more of them and though I know they are caused by sun damage, I think they are incredibly sexy and beautiful. I miss having obvious freckles. Mine started to fade in high school. I remember getting a modeling job when I was about 15 and my agency fibbed a little and told them I had a face full of freckles. I showed up and the makeup artist had to draw freckles onto my face with an eye pencil. Good times.
Another favorite of mine is model Daniella Sarahyba. Her features are so beautiful and I love her thick, dark hair. Here she is:
Then, there’s a model I haven’t seen before named Esti Ginzburg. I love her face too. I think Sports Illustrated really chooses their models carefully and picks girls with youthful, gorgeous faces as opposed to runway models who can sometimes be more harsh/editorial/intense looking (not all, but some.) SI always has women who (to me) look very feminine, girly, pretty.
Next up is longtime SI model Anne V. Love her!
Model Bar Refaeli posed for SI again this year, looking awesome as usual. Look at the way her hips curve! Beautiful!
Model Irina Shayk is another fave of mine. Her exotic features are so beautiful:
Julie Henderson has also done SI for several years now, and I love her super-natural look (and her cute freckles of course!)
Last, but not least, another fave of mine is model Julie Ordon. Isn’t she pretty?
What do you think of this year’s SI Swimsuit Issue? Do you have any favorite models from this year? Let me know in the comments below. I was surprised not to see Marisa Miller this year.
Before I go, here are some additional pics of Brooklyn on her press tour for her SI cover.

I think all the girls look great! Brooklyn looks like perfection in a bikini and all the beach pics really have me in the mood for summer!
I wonder where she got those booties in the last pic…loving those!
They're all gorgeous! I agree, I love that SI emphasizes more natural beauty….I hate when women look all plastic and whatnot.
Thanks for sharing!
xoxo!
I love the Swimsuit Edition! I have/have had a subscription to SI for year (I heart sports!), but just like a guy, the SE is always my favorite, LOL! I agree that Brooklyn looks absolutely stunning–geez louise. Look at how long her legs are in the last 2 candids–oh my gosh, I would love to have legs that long. I also agree with the styling and overall look of the Swimsuit Edition, it seems more natural than contrived, which I am a fan of. And Bar and some of the others are definitely 'curvier' than most models, of course their bodies are perfect, but they aren't so bony and sick-looking. I love the freckles too, especially Cintia's-stunning.
Oh they are gorgeous! Gee I wish I was 5'10! THey all look so natural
I was waiting for your post about Brooklyn's cover :). I love the photos, they are all stunning!
Gorgeous!! I also love the more natural look of the models they choose. It's like you could almost believe they weren't airbrushed they look so amazingly natural and sexy. I also love that there isn't the ridiculous degree of airbrushing that we see in fahsion/beauty magazines (though I'm sure they do touch ups). I also love that there is such a variety of looks! Though I love a good bronze and rarely am without a good coat of faux tan, I love that they included porcelain, tanned, and darker olive complexions. I hate to say it, but there's something I don't like about Bar's photo… maybe the tiny bikini top?? I don't know, but I definitely think they couldv'e gotten a more flattering (and insanely hot) shot of her. Daniella's my fave. Just look at that hair!!!
I wish they'd used Doutzen Kroes this year. I think she's just about the most gorgeous woman in the world.
Michele- I love Doutzen too!
I love them! They're all so beautiful.
I cannot wait to get back in shape after the twins are born! I love how they all have curves !
ahh I wish I had Daniella Sarahyba's hair! It's the exact color I want. I love that deep dark brown, almost black. I've been thinking of dying mine that color but it's such a hassle with the upkeep of dying your hair…
Cintia is stunning! I absolutely LOVE her red hair and freckles. Oh how I wish I had more of my mother's looks. She was graced with the same red hair and freckles, and continues to get more beautiful with age.
Cintia has the hair and complexion I always wished for as a kid! She is so beautiful. Sadly I did not inherit my dad's hair color, though I got a few freckles that pop out a lot more in the summer!
This post had me glancing down at my midriff thinking, "okay, time to think about swimsuit season and put down the winter comfort food!" Haha. At 5'4" I'll never look quite like these women, but it's nice to see that they have more curvy, natural looking, yet slender, bodies rather than scary-skinny bodies.
I was waiting for your post about this as well! 😉 I love the SI Swimsuit Issue! All the girls look so pretty! Those pictures of Brooklyn especially are making me want summer and a yellow bikini!!
Omg! I love Irina and the Beach Bunny suit she is wearing very hot! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the SI Swimsuit Issue and I can't wait for summer!
Leah
