This is going to be a quick entry because it’s Friday and I’m exhausted (and promised Candice that I’d attend a grueling Pilates class with her in the a.m.), but I wanted to ask you all:
What is a product that you never thought you needed to use, that is now an essential part of your beauty routine?
I have a few but the one that makes the most significant difference in my apperance is this:
It is the Anastasia of Beverly Hills Perfect Brow Pencil. Before our wedding, I never used an eyebrow pencil. I guess because I have full brows, I assumed a brow pencil could do nothing for me. But I was sorely mistaken, and my amazing wedding makeup artist showed me why.
When Danielle from The Perfect Face did my wedding makeup trial, I noticed she had filled in my brows, and though it took some getting used to, I realized just how much more of a polished apperance the enhancement brought to my face. There was more balance- my eyebrows were stronger, but not overly done (I like enhanced, not drawn-on brows.)
From the Trial:
From the Wedding:
Now, I can’t imagine NOT using an eyebrow pencil. I use it to extend the lenght of my brows (they don’t grow out as far as they should) and also to fill in any sparse areas. It really makes a subtle difference and takes my took to a higher level of “polished-ness.”
So, tell me- what’s a product you never thought to use or didn’t think you needed, that you now can’t live without?
Hope everyone has a great weekend!
xoxo,
Veronika.
I agree with it taking a while to get used to but I now use a brow pencil and it makes a huge difference.
I have a few! First, i totally agree with the brow definer. This is one product that I think every girl should at least try. Second, is super bright blushes (applied lightly and blended, of course). Years ago I used blushes with brown undertones, after growing up watching my mother (with dark, olive toned skin) use these shades. Thankfully, I branched out and tried a random bright blush I found at the drugstore! I'm so glad that I did. A light wash of pinkier shades does so much more for my lighter complexion and overall 'look'.
Totally agree about the brow definer. I have nice brows, but I started to fill them in a bit and set with a clear mascara – I can't go back. I just gives a much more polished look.
Also a must have for me is shadow primer. UD primer = can't live without!
Great blog Veronika!
I love the pointy tipped q-tips. They are amazing for cleaning up under the eyes and since they are pointed you can do it without messing your makeup up! Your wedding pictures are beautiful.
xo em
Mine is not a product, more of a tool. Growing up, I never used an eyelash curler…in fact, the mere appearance of it scared me! I always thought my lashes were perfect – until I finally tried curling them. After that experience, I will never go back to the straight, pointed downward lashes that I *thought* were perfect. A lash curler is definitely one of my essentials!
PS: Brow fillers are awesome – I am still getting used to fitting it into my daily routine…
I will have to say an eyelid primer. My lids get oily causing my shadow to be gone by the end of the day so this is a must have for me. Love it.
I just discovered how to put on bronzer, believe it or not! Before that, I was using blush all over my face. It wasnt as bad as it sounds, but the bronzer definitely improved things.
I also fill in my eyebrows. I use Coquette eyeshadow by MAC & a MAC angle brush. Its quick, easy & looks totally natural. The problem with my eyebrows is that after so many years of plucking, they are super thin & won't grow out anymore.
