I was browsing around at Beauty First on Saturday hoping for an early release of Essie’s Holiday collection (I am eager to get my hands on “Mint Candy Apple” to soothe my sorrows of not being able to get the Chanel Jade nail polish), and just as I was about to make my way out of the store, I stumbled upon the most gorgeous color…possibly ever. It is from OPI’s Holiday Wishes collection, and it is called “Sapphire in the Snow.” I can best describe it by saying it is a dark almost indigo purple. If you love dark polishes, you will LOVE this one. It brings a little something unexpected to the table. It has that indigo quality to it, without being harsh. In person, it is dark and glossy and you can really see the indigo undertones in the light. I love it so. Here are some pics:

….and because I can never seem to write about just one topic at a time, Ivanka Trump got married this past weekend, and the few wedding photos I saw absolutely took my breath away. Is she gorgeous or what? She is so classic and polished and elegant. I just loved her entire look- from the hair, makeup, jewels and dress (Vera Wang).
Star Magazine said Ivanka was going for the “Grace Kelly” look, and I think she nailed it. I think her makeup was just flawless- the soft, brown smokey eye and nude makeup elsewhere enhanced her features in a soft, beautiful way.
I think she was simple radiant and glowing (like every bride should be on her big day!) She obviously takes care of herself. I have seen a lot of photos of her at various events, and she is always so refined and put-together. I recently read a piece about her in In Style Magazine where she talked all about her love for jewelry (she has her own line). You can get a peek at her wedding day jewels here.
You know how sometimes you see a bride, and her wedding and you think to yourself “she just did everything right,…” that is how I felt when I saw these photos. I have always thought she was gorgeous, but on her wedding day especially, she was perfection. What do you think? Did you love her wedding day look or was it too traditional for you? I can’t wait to see the rest of the photo set. I’ll be sure to post them when I find them.
xoxo,
Veronika.
I almost picked that up today! It was a tad too blue, though (I've been wearing Russian Navy, so I'm all blue-d out). The only other color that caught my eye from that collection was Merry at Midnight… an EXACT dupe for MAC's Baby Goth Girl. Great post!
stephie- I don't know if I got a defective bottle, but mine looks sooo purple to me. More purple than blue. It is weird because in person (I did two thick coats) it looks dark, but with flash, it photographs lighter than it looks. Sometimes it looks as dark as Lincon Park After Dark to me!
It looks alot like Lincoln Park after Dark, maybe not so "black" looking in the photo. Very pretty though, a classy way to wear blue polish. I looked at those Ivanka Trump photos when I got home from work, she was only engaged 3 months apparently – I can't imagine the stress on her planner!
I was actually going to say it looks like Lincoln Park! Very pretty. Oh man, Ivanka is perfection in her wedding photos. You know what I think is so amazing about her? Her teeth are not PERFECT and that's what makes her distinct.
Ivanka's wedding pics are GORGEOUS!! she's so beautiful and classy, she definetly nailed the Grace Kelly inspiration look. again thanks for your blog, LOVE it!!
Love the polish color V! I have been on a navy blue quest also, this may be good to try out. I also love Ivanka, she is always so poised and gorgeous.
Emily- what a cute observation. I too don't have perfect teeth (they are pretty straight, and I never had braces, but they are not perfect). I have considered using invisalign, but to be honest, I think the imperfection of my teeth actually adds a little bit of character. I'm too afraid I'll lose a little bit of "me" if I had super perfect teeth.
Now, I just whiten to make sure they are stain free!
Nice color. Too bad I already have Russian Navy which is pretty dark and can sometimes look purple rather than blue. I am now on the search for a purple that is not so dark that it looks black.
knot- you may want to try OPI's "give me moor" or "siberian nights." I think if you apply really thin coats, it might look more purple.
I also really love OPI's "we'll always have Paris" but it is more of a burgundy/purple color….stunning though.
i thought the same thing when i saw Ivanka's pics – how classy!! She was beautiful. I cant comment on the nail colors – ive been trying to get back into painting mine, with no luck yet – I think i just need a new color collection cause mines too old. Maybe ill go back to ulta.
Rebecca- painting your nails will make you feel awesome I promise. There is something about having my nails done that just makes me feel that much more polished! 🙂 good luck finding a color that works for you!
I work around the corner from Ivanka's office in Trump and see her early in the morning walking to work. She is as absolutely breath taking in person and is always SO put together. She is definitely one of those people that really looks like that in person! Love the wedding photos, she looks very elegant.
Amy- I am sooo jealous! I would love to just spy on her everyday (in a non-creepy way) just to see what she wears. She is definitely a style inspiration…and is intelligent to boot! Lucky girl!
OMG – her jewels!!!!!! WOW!!!!!

That OPI polish reminds me a lot of Chanel's Blue Satin (which I love love), I'll have to check it out.
And I agree, Ivanka is gorgeous. I love her jewelry line, too bad it's out of my price range, but a girl can dream!
I agree with your comment about Ivanka–she's always classy! A wedding blogger from my area (Chicago) was going on and on about how boring and generic it was. Oh well, everyone has different wedding ideas. As for Ivanka in general, I think she is pretty inspiring for women in their 20's/early 30's. She is always classy and very polished : )
