Happy Halloween to all of my wonderful blog followers!
I have been out all day trying to get inspired, but I am just not feeling totally into Halloween this year because I didn’t plan in advance like I should have. I have a box of Halloween accessories from years past that I plan to tap into for tonight. I’ll let you all know what I come up with (and post some pics, of course).
I just want you all to know how much I appreciate everyone who reads and contributes to this blog. I wouldn’t be able to write it without all of you. I picked up a small treat while I was out shopping today to give away as my first blog contest prize to celebrate my first 100 subscribers.
The prize is a 4-piece mini OPI polish set from the Espagna Collection (it has “Suzi Skis in the Pyrenees, No Spain No Gain, Pink Flamenco and the RapiDry Top Coat). I also have the new Essie “Mint Candy Apple” nail polish to include in that prize, since it is such a fun holiday color, and a great dupe for Chanel’s “Jade” polish (I got one for myself too, of course!)
These are the contest Rules:
1. You must be a follower/subscriber at the time you entered the contest (if you are not, you can go to the top of the blog and click “follow blog” and you can become a subscriber.
2. One entry per person. Please leave a comment saying “enter me” in the comments below. I will use random.org to select the winning comment.
3. You must be a resident of the USA or Canada.
4. If you are selected as the winner, you must email me (I will provide the email address when I announce the winner) and provide me with your preferred mailing address.
5. You must use a name or Google user ID to post your comment (no anonymous comments will be considered, for obvious reasons).
6. You must submit your entry on this blog post only by Friday, November the 6, 2009 by midnight CST.
7. I will announce the winner on Saturday, November 7, 2009. I will ship out the prize when I recieve the winner’s information.
I hope everyone enjoys these prizes. I wasn’t sure what to get, but I thought nail polish was a good idea because it pretty much works for everyone, whereas makeup colors can be trickier depending on skin tone.

I have a closet full of costumes that I have on hand for "just in case" moments. My go to is normally is a Beer Wench out fit or some kind of pin-up. The pin-up is fun to do because of the bright red lips. It allows me to keep my ongoing search for the perfect red lip.

Tonight I am going to be Tinkerbell! My mom made the dress so it looks pretty close to the real thing. I am also doing a replica of Kandee Johnson's version of tinkerbells makeup! I think I am more excited about the makeup than anything else!

Our neighborhood celebrated Halloween last night because of our close proximity to LSU & they have a game tonight. We had a party with all of the neighbors while all the kids trick or treated.
Enter me! We dressed up last night for our friends Halloween party. I was a nurse and my hubby was a patient. The best thing about the costume was playing around with my hair and makeup, 50s pinup style, with spiral curls and ruby red lips! Congrats on the 100 followers…rightly so, the blog is great!

My husband and I will probably lay low and watch true blood, but I had toyed with the idea of dressing him up like a tooth and making myself the tooth fairy… he's a dentist and we're unoriginal. Instead, we dressed the cat up like a pumpkin and we are staying in watching True Blood!

This year… I actually sort of did what you did. I wore the J. Crew felted bistro mini in black, with black sweater tights, a gold-shimmery (not in your face gold) tank with a black cardigan over top, my new frye black knee high riding boots… and I topped it off with a witch hat. My husband tried to get me to wear a scary mask but I told him I wanted to be a pretty witch.. lol. We went to a party, so it was fun. I was happy to have the 1 extra hour this morning 🙂

I just wore a little black dress from forever21 with black wings and a halo…wings were a horrible idea and only lasted an hour or so since I kept bumping into people with them! As for makeup, I wore super long feather lashes to match my feathered wings and diorshow to blend!

I was just a girl in a dress for Halloween. I had a tulle dress that I was dying to wear, so I did. I could have maybe passed for a ballerina since I wore leg warmers, but really I was just wearing a nice blog.

My hubby and I went as Ricky and Lucy (I love Lucy). I bought a long wig with bangs on ebay and styled it like she wore it, then also got a vintage dress and wore it with my red VS maribou heels. It was so 50s pinup housewife!! we had so much fun 😛
